"The Lord is the strength of our life" (Part 4)

Psalm 27:7-10-
"Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.
Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up."

In verse 6, which we discussed in the last post, David spoke of singing praises to God.  In verse 7, David is asking God to hear him, have mercy on him, and to answer his prayer.  God hears us every time we speak to Him as long as there is no known sin in our life, He is ever so merciful and He always answers us with a yes, no, or wait.  I think David was longing for God's presence in that moment.  Verse 8 shows obedience to God from David.  David obeyed when God told him to seek His face.  You see this verse shows us that God heard David's prayer, had mercy on him, and answered him.  What is the significance of seeking God's face?  I think that God's answer to David's prayer was to seek His face and David's worries/concerns would fade. Verse 9 goes on to show praise to God for His salvation, His help, and the fact that God never forsakes us.  Verse 10 is encouraging to know that as long as you are on God's path, no matter who forsakes you, even if it is your mom and dad, God will be there for you.  No matter how much you have been through with physical, mental, spiritual, or emotional struggles, GOD is bigger and will never leave your side. David knew that no matter what happened God would be there.  He felt secure in God's arms.  Do you feel secure in God's arms?  Can you let go and let God...can you trust Him that much?  Our answers should be yes, but oh how many times, do we answer those questions with no.  Ask for forgiveness for not trusting God and turn your worries over to HIM today and let go!

If you are unsure where you will spend eternity after you die, please continue reading below.

1. Realize that God loves you
John 3:16-"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
2. Realize that you are a sinner.  Sins are anything that you do that is wrong, examples are lying, lusting, being jealous, etc.
Romans 3:23- "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
3. Know that you are a lost sinner.  Realize that you need Jesus to get to Heaven.  Nothing you do is good enough.  Sin must be paid for, but Jesus paid the price for sin.
Romans 6:23- "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (You must accept that gift)
4. Believe that God sent Jesus, His Son, into the world, and believe that He died on a cross to take the punishment for your sins and then rose from the dead 3 days later.
Romans 5:8- "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Matthew 28:6-"He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay."
5. Ask God to forgive you of your sins, and ask Him to enter into your life and save you.
Romans 10:9-10- "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Acts 2:21-"And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved."
If you do that or have done that already, you are a child of God and you have begun your journey of following God's plan for your life.
