About Rebekah

Hi there! I am a teacher, pastor's wife, and follower of Jesus. I am a sinner saved by God's grace, and I want to share God's love story with the world!  I teach Kindergarten, and my husband is the student pastor at our church.  My husband and I are on an adventure to follow Jesus, and we love serving together.  We have been married for two years, and we recently moved to a new ministry.  I hope you enjoy following our story and finding hope in every aspect of life.  We are on a journey to living in hopeful abandon for Jesus as we follow His will for our lives!

My hope story includes my journey through life with the health condition called Dysautonomia. I have Dysautonomia in the form of Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (P.O.T.S.).  My Autonomic Nervous System, which controls involuntary functions of the body, does not work correctly.  I am now so much better than I was when I was diagnosed in September of 2009.  The Lord has given me some amazing healing that can only come from Him. My health journey began in June 2009, when I was admitted to the hospital for Pericarditis. This is an acute infection around the lining of the heart. I was told it would get better within 2-3 weeks, and that everything should be back to normal. I was on bedrest for 2-3 weeks (because of the possibility of cardiac arrest) and the Pericarditis went away; however, I began having more and more symptoms. My symptoms included breathing irregularities, fast heart rate, big digestion issues to a point of eliminating quite a bit of certain kinds of food, muscle weakness (at times I was unable to walk/stand), migraine headaches, chest pain, fatigue, achiness, low blood pressure, low blood sugar, and other symptoms.   I had been a healthy teenager up to that point in my life and played sports, etc., but not after all of the symptoms began.  God is so good, and He held my hand and my family's hand the whole way through. Doctors could not figure out what was wrong with me.  They would think it was something and then try to fix that problem, and then it didn't work. I was eventually sent to a very well known hospital, and a doctor there diagnosed me with Dysautonomia and P.O.T.S. She was able to give me medication that helped me, but the journey was still just beginning. I had more problems and symptoms and was in and out of the hospital 6 times in 2 years.  God was still holding our hands. I missed days and weeks of school, and God was still there helping me keep up with the missed school work. Over the next few years, I missed quite a bit of school and some activities, but looking back, it was beautiful to see God holding our hands. Never letting go.  I began getting a little better with my health in 2012.

Even after doctors thought there may not be anything else to help symptoms get better, God knew He was in control.  My Senior year of high school, I was told that my condition was likely a genetic disorder and it would probably be something I would deal with forever.  There was not much more the doctors could do, it was just going to be a life with limitations.  Right after I was told that, my symptoms began to get a little better and since then, God has placed my health condition in "almost" remission.  Let's just say, there is NOTHING my God cannot do! At this time in my life, the Lord has blessed me so much with good days. There are still days with symptoms and I do have limitations on what I can/can't do without making symptoms worse, but God has blessed me with so many more good than bad days!  I hope that you will not ever give up on God.  He never gives up on you.  Please know He has a purpose for your life! You can place your hope in His hands!

In January 2016, I met my amazing husband and we were married in July 2017.  I felt God calling me to be a pastor's wife when I was just 12 years old.  I love that He is allowing me to live out my dream and serve Him alongside my sweet husband.  My health is continuing to improve as I just follow a strict diet now for my low blood sugar.  I'm so glad you are visiting my page to follow our journey of living in hopeful abandon!
