Be Strong and of Good Courage!

Be strong and of good courage! These are words you may hear and read from God's Word quite often.  The Lord is so good and He reminds us to be strong and courageous!  I don't know about you, but I too often feel weak and discouraged... maybe that is why God reminds us so much to be the opposite of what we feel. Feelings will lead you down a very wrong path.  1 Chronicles 28:20 was brought to my attention recently.  Amazing verse....one of my new favorites.  God not only reminds us to be strong and have good courage, but right after those words, the verse goes on to say, "and do it."  WOW! I don't know about you, but that is encouraging to me.  Do the work that it takes to be strong and courageous and do the work that it takes to be doing what God wants!  The verse continues to say "fear not"...that is a hard one for me.  So encouraging to know that God tells us not to fear.  It is not necessary.  There is nothing to fear because God is with us.  It continues with "nor be dismayed, for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee."  This is our reason that we have to not worry and not to fear! God is always with us. "He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee" is the next phrase.  God will not ever leave us or decide He does not want us...yet another reason to fear not.  The last part of  the verse says "until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord."  This encourages us to remember that God wants us to serve Him and that He sees what we do.  No matter what circumstances you encounter during this life, if you are a saved, child of God, then you can have a hope that never fails because you have the promise of eternal life in Heaven! God will give His salvation so graciously to you if admit you are a sinner and you need God, you believe that Jesus died and rose again for you, and you ask Him to come into your life and save you.  If you have not done this, do it today! You can know that you are saved and know God will always be with you!

I encourage you to read and memorize 1 Chron. 28:20.  It will be a blessing to you to have it memorized. 

I Chronicles 28:20- "And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord."
